Approve coverage

Coverage requests land in your approval queue. Approve them one at a time, or select the whole queue and bulk approve in about four seconds.

When a teacher submits a request, it waits for your approval before it becomes coverage and goes out to substitutes. The approval queue is where you clear them.

Approve one request

  1. Open the approval queue
From your dashboard, the approvals callout tells you how many are waiting. Select it, or go to approvals in the side rail.
  2. Check the details
Each row shows the teacher, the dates, the reason, the PTO hours, and whether a lesson plan is attached. Urgent requests sort to the top.
  3. Approve or decline
Approve to send the job out to substitutes. Decline if it can't go ahead, the teacher is notified either way.

Bulk approve the whole queue

On a busy morning you don't have to click through one by one.

  1. Select the requests
Check the rows you want, or select all.
  2. Approve the batch
Choose Approve selected. SubHub approves each request in its own step, so one problem row doesn't block the rest.
  3. Read the summary
You get a quick summary, for example "8 approved, 2 couldn't be approved", with the reasons shown inline so you can fix the stragglers. The whole batch takes about four seconds.

Re-assign without rejecting You don't have to decline a request to change who covers it. Approve it, and the open job goes to the substitute pool to claim.
