Roles & access

SubHub has three roles. Each one sees a version of SubHub tuned to what they do. Pick a role below to see exactly what it can and can't do.

Your role is set on your SubHub record, not on how you sign in. It decides which sections appear in your side rail and which actions you can take.

AWhat admins can doApproves coverage, runs the school or district, manages people and PTO.

Can

  • Approve, decline, and bulk approve coverage requests
  • See every absence on the calendar across all four views
  • Manage users: invite teachers, substitutes, and other admins
  • Set and adjust PTO balances for staff
  • Browse open jobs for capacity planning

Can’t: Claim jobs (that is the substitute action) or request coverage on a teacher’s behalf without their record.

More than one hat Someone can hold more than one role, a teacher who also subs elsewhere, for example. Their record carries each role, and they switch between them under one account.
